Privacy Policy

What we store

One row per customer: your numeric GitHub account id, your username, and the date your trial started. That row is how we know a license belongs to you. Nothing else reaches our servers.

What stays on your Mac

Your library sits on your own disk. Your GitHub token and any AI keys are stored securely on your machine, never in our systems. Export or delete all of it from the app whenever you want.

GitHub

Signing in lets the app read your starred repositories straight from GitHub. The app sends your token to us once so we can check which account it belongs to. We do not keep it.

Payments

Polar handles purchases as Merchant of Record, under their privacy policy. At checkout you give the GitHub username your license binds to.

AI features

Off until you turn them on. When you do, your questions and the repository they are about go to the provider you picked, using your own key, or to a model running on your Mac. We do not run an AI service and never see your prompts.

Updates

The app checks our public GitHub releases page for new versions. That is an ordinary web request and carries no personal data.

Your rights

Your content never leaves your device. To delete the license row tied to your GitHub id, or to ask anything else about privacy, email hello@stargazer.dev.
